Who is Giulio Iacchetti?
Born in 1966, Giulio Iacchetti has worked since 1992 as an industrial designer for a wide range of brands. In addition, he is also artistic director for such great brands as IB rubinetterie, Ceramica Globo and Il Coccio Design Edition. Besides these activities, he also devotes himself to teaching at several universities and design schools in Italy and abroad.
Design projects crowned with success
Iacchetti has won many international prizes over the course of his career. His Eureka Coop design for Coop Italy, an Italian supermarket, was lavishly praised. In 2009, he received the innovation prize ´Premio dei Premi´ awarded by the Italian President. This project made it possible to highlight design in mass marketing and to draw attention to the new generation of Italian design.
He also received the ´Compasso d´Oro´ prize for his ´Moscardino´ spoon-fork, designed together with Matteo Ragni. You can admire this object at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) of New York. In November 2012, Giulio Iacchetti founded ´Internoitaliano’. His furniture and accessories are inspired by the quintessentially Italian lifestyle.
A designer for major brands
Iacchetti is an industrial designer for such major brands as Alessi, Danese, Elica and Meritalia, for whom he has conceived design furniture, but also kitchen accessories, lamps and extraction hoods. He has also created door handles for Frascio. His designs can be instantly recognized by their refined style.
