Timeless living in a renovated townhouse .

This project takes us straight into the heart of Ghent city centre, where a townhouse with a myriad of lovely features was transformed into a characterful family dwelling.

For its current occupants, this character home originally built in 1907 was love at first sight: the high ceilings, beautifully decorated walls, the light-drenched interiors and unique façade clinched the deal for them the minute they clapped eyes on it. However, there was a lot of work to be done to this majestic property, which initially served as offices for a law firm.

Which is why the occupants decided to entrust Jones Living with the renovation work, to successfully take the project from inception to completion. Philip Lenaerts pored over the interior of the townhouse and saw the potential right away. On the strength of his professional expertise, his instinct for style and materials, he ended up delivering an ageless interior, as the perfect symbiosis between modern and authentic elements.

PROJECT JONES LIVING - HERENHUIS GENT

The pièce de résistance: Dauby door fittings

The occupants were looking to lend their newly acquired authentic townhouse an ageless appeal in joint consultation with Jones Living. The play of light within the property was seized on to maximum effect, with the entire home given a bright and spacious feel.

To complete the melding of old and new, it was decided to go for Dauby door fittings. Which was where the Pure collection came in. Right across the property, Belgian designer Tom Lenaerts’ furniture knob and Dauby’s sleek furniture knob were used, both of which are made from Black Aged Iron (VO). It is a non-corrosive metal alloy that starts to look even more gorgeous over time. After a while, it takes on a weathered appearance that lends the fittings added style and character.

Take a look inside the spacious lounge, the resplendent kitchen-living room or the bathroom that has been completely decked out in marble: everywhere around the house, Jones Living’s steelwork and fitted wardrobes are complemented by Dauby’s door fittings.

The Pure collection oozes the kind of ageless appeal that suits this townhouse down to a tee: an interplay of classic and modern elements. In amongst other things, this includes the authentic chimney breasts, fitted with modern gas fires. Style and comfort go hand in hand.

Masterly bespoke solutions by Jones Living

Details deliver perfection. Something you notice when taking a closer look at this timeless interior designed by Jones Living in which marble and wood rule supreme. In every room, attention went out to the minutest details, driven by this constant fearlessness to combine modern and classic. In the bathroom for instance, he went with Mortex, a revolutionary kind of stucco which is perfect in combination with the marble.

The dwelling oozes style and cachet yet it is thoroughly homely; every inch a family dwelling. Philip Lenaerts did a professional job, something which is reflected in each room of this unique townhouse. Jones Living has a natural instinct for authentic and unique materials, which explains the decision to go with Dauby door fittings.
