Stephanie Van Mechelen

Born in 1959, Roberto Semprini is a creative jack of all trades. He earned a degree in architecture before launching himself into the vibrant world of product design. Semprini is delighted to share his knowledge via articles in design magazines and he gives courses and seminars at several universities. His designs please many people and constitute the showpiece of every interior. Whether seats, chairs, tables, kitchens, beds, mirrors, sinks or door handles, one always recognizes Semprini’s special touch.

Roberto Semprini´s beginnings

After his architecture studies in Florence, Roberto Semprini rapidly become a designer with a clear vision and an « Italian » flair. At a young age he already won a prize for his low table ´Manta´ designed for the Fiam company. Want to see his creations? They form part of the permanent collection of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts and of the New Design Museum of London. In the year 2000 Semprini founded his own studio in Rimini, called ´RM 12 Art & Design Gallery and Studio of Design and Interior Architecture´. Today he devotes himself primarily to interior design as well as to organizing exhibitions and events. In addition, he is a professor at the Accademia di Brera in Milan, and still collaborates with several design companies.

Top-level design

One of these design companies is Frascio, which specializes in door handles. Roberto Semprini regularly provides them with innovative designs at their request. You can see one of his designs in the photo below. The original and refined look of this door fitting by Roberto Semprini invariably attracts everyone´s attention. This model, in matt or polished chrome, adapts itself to any type of interior. In addition, this door handle requires little maintenance. A dream!
